Season Highlights 2018-19 - Toronto Symphony, University of Toronto, MITM, Amara Piano Quartet

Guest Principal Viola
Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Next season, I am headed back to my homeland, Canada, to serve as the guest principal violist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. I’ll be with this amazing ensemble starting in September. During my time there I will also be collaborating with the TSO Chamber Soloists. I'm looking forward to performing Prokofiev's Quintet in G minor for Oboe, Clarinet, Violin, Viola, and Double Bass, Op. 39 (September 27); and Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht (February 14) with my fellow principals. In addition to working with the TSO Chamber Soloists, I'll also be teaching at the University of Toronto and coaching special chamber music sessions, among other projects. So, stay tuned!

New Principal Violist
Music in the Mountains Festival

From July 7 – 29, at the Music in the Mountains Festival in Colorado, I will serve as the new principal violist of the Festival Orchestra under the direction of Guillermo Figueroa. I will also collaborate with my fellow principal players, including Maestro Figueroa, in a special chamber concert on July 18 that will include Dvorák’s String Quintet No. 3 in E-flat, Op. 97 and Brahms’ String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat, Op. 18. Then, on July 24, I will be featured as the viola soloist in Graun’s Viola Concerto in E-flat.

Collaborating in the Community
Camerata Milwaukee / Amara Piano Quartet

On September 8, I will perform the recently rediscovered Concerto in E flat for Viola Concertata by Markus Heinrich Grauel’s with the Camerata Milwaukee, a group that is dedicated to community engagement. In November, I’m headed to Iowa State University for special chamber music concerts with the Amara Piano Quartet. We will be performing Saint-Saëns' Barcarolle Op.108, Mozart's Piano Quartet in G minor K.478, and Brahms' Piano Quartet in C minor Op. 60 on November 4 and 8.
